Katy’s Inn Scone Recipe
1 cup sour cream, 1 tsp baking soda, peeling from one orange – mix together and set aside.
4 cups all purpose flour
1 cup sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
Cut in 1 cup of cold butter with pastry cutter.
Add sour cream mixture and moisten flour, stir in 1 cup Craisins
Knead dough on a floured surface until it holds together. Divide into 2 parts, press each into a circle and cut wedges (like a pie) 8 to 12 scones each. Makes 16 to 24 scones (I freeze ½ the batch)
Bake 350 degrees for 14 minutes.
¼ cup powdered sugar, 1 tsp orange juice, stir until smooth (add more juice if needed) and drizzle over warm scone.
